This broadband package from Orange has a low speed of 2MB so is best for low to basic internet usage. The package says it has “up to 8MB” so check in advance if you can have higher speeds than 2MB. The usage allowance is 10GB.

With an Orange pay monthly mobile plan, this service is “from free” but regular customers pay just under a tenner a month. Home Starter comes with a wireless router but it is not the same as the router on the other packages (Livebox).

Inclusive in this pack are inclusive evening and weekend calls to all UK landlines. The McAfee Privacy Service is free with this pack so you can choose what your children do (and don’t) get up to while they are online.

To set up this service, you can choose to use a step by step CD…if you need help, Orange will charge you nearly £70 to have an Orange representative visit you. If you are not in the 65% of UK homes that receive Orange coverage you will need to pay an additional £7.83 a month to receive Orange Broadband.
