This is the most basic package from Sky Broadband – this one is best for basic browsing and email use. You will get three months free protection from McAfee and your package includes a wireless router.

Note that with Sky, you need to either already have Sky TV or set it up in order to have the broadband package. If you take Sky Talk, your monthly cost with Sky Base is free – otherwise this costs £5 which is not bad at all.

The download speed here is 2MB and the monthly usage allowance is 2GB. If you are happy to install the service yourself, it is free of charge. However……if you need a Sky engineer to install the package for you, you could look at fees of over £100 based on which day of the week and what time you need instalment (notably peak times such as Saturdays are very expensive).

Sky offers combinations that you can set up which is great for having a tailor-made service based on your or your family’s needs.
